Well I guess it wouldn't hurt to jump on the bandwagon this one time with a journal about my Deviantart story. It won't be very long or exciting to read I'm sure. If you are not sure why people are making these journals you can check out this journal that has all the details to celebrate Devianart's 14th birthday and get yourself a badge --> heidi.deviantart.com/journal/C…
So I originally joined Deviantart on January 10th 2004 with this account
and I started out drawing, mainly anime styled works as I was a fan. Still am I suppose since I still watch it just not as much as I used to. I still visit the account from time to time but I haven't made any new work fora very long time now. I was never any good at it really but here are a few of my works:
I then got into photography in 2006 when I borrowed a camera and found that it was actually fun taking photos. I then decided to make this account in February of that year. My older works started off with a small point and shoot until the DA community told me I should invest in a DSLR and of course they were right, the quality of my works improved. Here are some examples of my earlier work, they are not as good HAHA:
So these were taken with a point and shoot:
Then when I got my first DSLR with was a Canon 400D. Here are some super early works with it:
And of course I then got my upgraded camera a Canon 5DmkII and haven't looked back. Here are some of my recent faves I've posted:
I've had a lot of positive feedback and support form the community over the years as well as being awarded DD's and becoming a senior which I am always humbled and appreciative when recieving something so special. I have gotten 2 DD's over the years I have been here and one of them not being an animal made it even more special. I'm glad people enjoy my other works as well. Here are the 2 awards:
I should also mention the friendships I have made on this site. As a result I have gotten to travel and stay with a lot of nice nad friendly bunch of people and have made even stronger and more personal friendships. If you want to see all the people I've met all you need to do is scroll to the bottom of my page and see. They are always there in every journal
And that's about all I want/have to say really. Now please scroll down to the features and enjoy what I have found around DA recently
As always if you want to find me and I'm not on DA there is my FB fanpage --> www.facebook.com/pages/Wild-Vi…
and my Twitter --> twitter.com/TVDPhotography

Thanks to those who have donated points to me Do you work at the zoo and/or with animals?
No, I don't work at the zoo or with animals. I just happen to live very close to the zoo so go there a fair bit.
I work in a call centre, very boring T_T Although currently now I am at the head office for the company I work for so all is good right now How did you get to pet all those animals?
When I go on holidays, some zoos offer programs where you can do these things but it costs money. With the big cats, a few hundred dollars. The photos with the koala, snake and baby gator for example, were $15 or so at Australia Zoo, they just take your photo Can I use your artwork in one of my creations?
Please ask first! Don't assume I will just say yes. I am less inclined to do so or will get annoyed if you just say you are taking my work for your purposes.
I don't bite, depending what it is, I will more than likely allow it and maybe even flattered that you would like to use my work for a ref If you agree to me using your work, what do you ask for in return?
All I ask for is some credit and recognition, so link back where you got it from and of course a link to your finished product as I would love to see your work If I have created a drawing/painting etc referenced off of your work, can I sell it?
This is a good question I got asked. I figure if it is something like pencil work, watercolour, oil painting, charcoal etc, then it is your work. I wouldn't have a problem with you selling it as a print or the original as you put the effort into it, I just gave some help
If it's a banner or poster where you have just put my work onto it, then no, I wouldn't like that very much.Do you have any tips for taking photos?
Yes I've written an article for beginners on how to do zoo photography. You can see the article here --> www.bubblews.com/news/32917-zo… ****Great artists I have met**** ****More great artists that you should check out****
