I realised I don't have a hunting dog in my gallery! They are just on the other side of the lions. I know it's not an exciting shot but the face is just adorable with the bit of meat on the nose

CommentsI didn't know the Painted Dog could also be called a hunting dog.

but still - very sweet!african wild dog no? these guys are viscous hunters and its always in packs. they have been known to take down elephants and even push lions and cheetah from their kill. Beautiful animals though and very respected by people who work in the bush here

They are amazing and they have such big litters of pups too! But the family is so sweet and caring for one another and share food around  -- Baby cheetah! Mmmm I don't see a resemblance to a hyena myself but people at my zoo make that mistake a lot
